We are excited to send you the registration materials for this year’s National Triennial Meeting for the Daughters of the British Empire. Our meeting will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel located in Sarasota, Florida. We are very happy to be having our National Convention in Florida this year as it is the 100 anniversary of the DBE in Florida!
For those of you who may not have been to Sarasota before, Sarasota has some of the world's best beaches, award-winning theaters, world-class art museums, family-friendly festivals and unique events. Plus natural and historic attractions, sophisticated shopping, dining and nightlife. This year we will start the National Convention on Thursday, May 13th. Attached please find a tentative agenda. Please study the enclosed tentative agenda closely to determine when you will need to make your travel arrangements. Please find attached travel, hotel, meeting, and registration information. Please note that registration will start on Wednesday, May 12th from 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
We have secured a rate of $142.00 (plus tax) a night at the Hyatt Regency Hotel for a single or double room. This is an extremely good price for this hotel. The Hyatt Regency Sarasota is in the heart of the cultural district and offers many exciting activities. The hotel is just minutes away from white sand beaches and downtown Sarasota including St. Armand's Circle for shopping and dining! You can stroll to the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, the G.WIZ Children's Hands On Museum, Florida West Coast Symphony, Municipal Auditorium, Visual Arts Center, Sarasota Garden Club and Downtown Sarasota. Enjoy Mote Marine Aquarium and Selby Botanical Gardens, just minutes away.
In order to accommodate all our members and to be able to use the hotel facilities, we are required to commit to using a specific number of rooms at this hotel, so please play your part by booking your stay at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
The National Board has planned a dinner cruise on Friday, May 14th aboard the Marina Jack II Sarasota's newest and most luxurious dinner boat. We will enjoy a relaxing cruise through the inter-coastal waters and the Gulf of Mexico and enjoy a delicious dinner buffet with outstanding views and world class service. You will not want to miss this!!!
Please encourage not only your delegates but also all members to attend this convention. State Presidents: Please email or duplicate all of these documents and distribute as quickly as possible to each of your Chapter Regents. It is important that this information goes out in a timely manner.
Please ensure that you return your registration information to me by April 9th. All hotel reservations must be made by April 16th to secure the $142.00 (plus tax) a night rate. We look forward to seeing you in Sarasota in May!
